An exceptional condition Hamilton 14K YG Piping Rock circa 1949. Featuring a tonneau shaped case with hinged lugs and black enamel Roman chapter ring. With very pleasing restored matte silver dial with printed minute indexes and tapered blued steel hands.  Powered by 17 jewel manual wind caliber 747 movement with subsidiary seconds.

This is the 2nd generation version of the classic Piping Rock model. The original was produced in 1929 and most famously a limited number were gifted to the 1929 World Series winning New York Yankees at the Piping Rock Casino in New York’s Catskill Mountains. A more recent production model was created in the 1990’s with a gold plated case and manual wind movement. The current example is the 1949 solid 14K YG case with mechanical manual wind movement, produced for the 20th anniversary of the original production, and an exceptional condition example of this 2nd generation model.
