Elgin white gold filled 16 size open face railroad grade pocket watch circa 1928. Featuring screw back case, screw down stem wind and lever set. With beautiful condition double sunk white enamel dial, Great condition example vintage railroad grade pocket watch. Powered by Elgin grade 478 BW Raymond 21 jewel movement. Serviced and offered with our 1 year warrantee of accurate time keeping and operation. NOTE: lever set pocket watches use a lever located under the screw off bezel to release the mechanism that locks the time setting feature. This is a protective device required of all railroad grade watches so that the time cannot accidentally be changed by the crown dislodging. This safety feature was required when strict standards of quality and accuracy were instituted in 1893 after the famous train crash outside Chicago.
