An especially fine vintage E Gubelin 2 registers manual wind chronograph circa 1950s. Featuring a large and impressive 38mm case with wide sloped bezel and with substantial turned down lugs that extend to 45mm. With heavy snap back clam shell style case secured for dust and water with 4 screws by the base of the lugs.

Featuring a stunning original matte silver dial with mirror printed rose gold wrapping Arabic and square indexes, prominent registers, and large rose gold leaf style hands. With round chronograph pushers, oversized crown for ease of setting and winding. The case back is free of any personalized engraving but does bear the engraved military style numbers 9442-34.

Powered by Valjoux 22 manual wind movement with registers for contant seconds and for 30 minutes. The hour and minute hand, sweep second hand, and register hands all match in color and style and appear to be original to the watch.

Gubelin is a highly regarded luxury brand and retailer, and is considered in Switzerland on a par to Tiffany & Co in the U.S. This is likely a post war production commissioned by Gubelin for its clientele. The watch is remarkably striking in appearance and condition, appears never polished, and is in excellent operating condition
