A scarce and fabulous man’s Cartier 18K YG jumbo “Cristallor” tank circa 1970. Featuring a sculpted 28 X 35mm rectangular case with 3 pronounced steps and name angled corner design. Featuring a classic white Paris dial with printed black Roman figures, blued steel epée hands and cabochon sapphire crown. Powered by 17 jewel caliber 78-1 manual wind movement.
The Cristallor name derives from the distinctive emerald cut shape of the case, with bold geometric lines, wide rounded stepped bezel, and angled cut corners, with the fine proportions of an ideal cut, emerald cut diamond. Reportedly fewer than 900 of this model were produced in the 1970’s, and there has been no more recent tribute or heritage models introduced since.
An excellent condition example with a sharp condition case, a no issues original Paris signed dial, and complete with Cartier exotic skin strap and 18K YG Cartier deployant buckle.
This is a distinctive and impressive model, perhaps 2nd only to the Bamboo case design which has now reached epic pricing of over $150,000!!! This example shows very light surface contact to the case, expected from wear, free of any significant nicks or dings. The 4 case back screws are clean and not marred, and the strap is properly secured to the T bar lugs with gold screws. In excellent operating condition, guaranteed genuine of course, and offered with our 1 year warranty of accurate time keeping and operation.
