A striking and colorful design 1970’s era Breitling Bullhead “Pupitre” chronograph. Featuring a 41mm diameter assymetic shaped case with chronograph pushers located at the top of the case, hence the nickname “Bullshead.” This example is in stunning unworn, new old stock condition. The dial features striking and colorful graphics in character with some of the most innovative watch designs of the 1970’s.
The case design slopes downward on the wrist, intended to facilitate viewing by the wearer, reducing the amount of “wrist roll” necessary to view the time. The French nickname for the model, “Pupitre” derives from the sloped design of a student’s lift top desk. The location of the chronograph functions was also intended to facilitate operation while driving.
This fabulous model is powered by self winding caliber 12 “chronomatic” movement with registers for constant seconds, minutes and hours. Designed to account for multiple chronograph operations, the dial features contrasting color perimeter scales for base 100, tachometer and pulsometer scales. The design is further set off with outer bidirectional rotating hours and minutes split bezel.
A colorful, distinctive design model in mint new old stock condition. Shown with NATO style strap or sport leather strap. Guaranteed genuine and original and offered with our 1 year warranty of accurate timekeeping and operation.
NOTE: We have added an Omega branded new old stock 22mm “shark bracelet” to this watch which is a great improvement in it’s appearance and wear on the wrist. The bracelet gives great support to the deep and heavy case and aside from the Omega signature on the clasp, looks like a bracelet that would have been on this watch originally!
