Vintage 18K & Platinum Diamond Five Stone Ring 0.53ct circa 1927
This vintage 18k yellow gold and platinum five stone diamond ring was most likely made in Europe, as denoted by the deep hallmark inside the shank and engraved date of 26/7/27, which is accompanied by engraved initials that appear to read “C.F. V M.S.” The diamonds are a mix of Old Mine Cuts and early Old European Cuts, with a total weight of approximately 0.53ct, SI1-I1/H-I. The diamonds are set in dramatically elevated tulip-shaped prong settings which are elegant and romantic. This ring would be lovely worn with a group of diamond or plain bands, and it also stands alone beautifully. Due to the height of the stone settings, it may be difficult to match this ring with an engagement ring, however it would certainly make a lovely anniversary gift or right hand ring. Top of ring measures 4mm wide x 4.5mm tall, tapering to a narrow 2mm domed shank. Ring size 5.25 with ability to adjust. Circa 1920s.
