Tudor Submariner ref 7928 Gilt Tropical “Swamp Dweller” Dial circa 1967

A vintage Tudor Submariner ref 7928 circa 1967 with an aged tropical dial with distinct greenish tones. We don’t see a lot of tropical dials with a greenish palette. We generally favor black gilt dials that have turn chocolate or caramel, but this one is quite a departure from any that we have seen before. We are affectionately going to refer to it as the “Swamp Dweller!”

Whether from condensation or just natural aging, we can’t say for sure, but for sure this is a one of a kind distinctive looking vintage Tudor Sub. With T SWISS T signed tritium dial with all the printing clear and intact, with the dial surface smooth and not bubbling from direct water exposure. With original lume showing aging and with darker lume original hands.

Featuring a terrific looking heavily faded gray ghost bezel which is a great match to the aged dial. With beefy lugs with beveled chamfers present and not overly polished and with secure more recent trip lock crown. The case back is clean, with some minor abrasions from slippage of the case back opening tool. The case and case back are free of corrosion and the serial # and ref # are all intact and readable.

Fitted with a sporty vintage style strap that complements the distinct vintage character of this model.

In excellent mechanical condition and offered with our 1 year warranty of accurate time keeping and operation. Your watch purchase will arrive in our fine glazed leather WBAW? watch pouch. Great for travel or storage. A $55 value!
