An early Tudor ref 94110 “Snowflake” Submariner with date serial number 842,XXX, circa 1976, the first year of introduction of this popular model. Featuring a typically weathered, but all original dial with lots of character that makes the watch look at least a decade older than it’s actual date. The dial shows a tropical matte surface but without the distracting bubbling and lifting commonly seen on the early snowflakes. With all gilt printing intact and with a very attractive “toast” appearance to the lume plots, with the outside of the plots a bit darker than the center. With all original unrestored tritium lume on the hands which have naturally aged a pleasing color lighter than the lume plots.

We have fitted this example with a non-cyclops” tropic 19 acrylic crystal to eliminate the distracting cyclops. We have virtually transformed this date model into the appearance of the even more desirable no date 9401/0.

Beyond the great looking character of the dial is a faded “ghostly” insert with a distinct purplish hue. The aged pearl is an aftermarket replacement as the original pearl was lost. With an especially sharp condition, never polished case, retaining it’s original frosty factory finish. As nice as the dial, hands, and insert are, the case is the real standout here. Super beefy lugs, with expected minor bruises, but without any significant dings, deep scratches, and with no restoration to make it look like something it is not!
