A late production, and well preserved example Rolex Submariner ref 5513, L2 serial # circa 1988. Featuring a 40mm diameter case with bi-directional eslpased time bezel, acrylic crystal, and gloss black dial with white gold luminous surrounds. With tritium lume indexes, tritium lume hands, and tritiium bezel “pip.”

The 5513 features a 40mm diameter case in exceptional condition. The case appears to be unpolished, showing very little use, and with original frosty metal finish. With a beautiful dome acrylic crystal, bi-directional 24 hour elapsed time insert, tritium pearl, and with stunning gloss black SWISS T<25 tritium dial with fully intact and original bright ivory tritium luminous plots and closely matching original lume hands.

With screw down trip lock Oyster crown, and screw down case back. Powered by the self winding 1520 movement with sweep seconds and no date. With Rolex stainless steel heavy Oyster ref 93150 flip lock bracelet with 580 end pieces and  N10 date code for 1989.

The 5513 began its life as a gilt dial Submariner almost 60 years ago in 1962, evolving over the decades from gilt, to matte dial, and finally to gloss dial you see here. It was then discontinued in 1989 when it was replaced by the sapphire crystal 14060.
