A very late production, and well preserved Rolex Submariner ref 5513, L serial # circa 1988. The 5513 began its life as a gilt dial Submariner almost 60 years ago in 1962, evolving over the decades from gilt, to matte dial, and finally to gloss dial you see here. It was then discontinued in 1989 when it was replaced by the sapphire crystal 14060. With it’s L6 serial dating the watch to approximately 1988, the current example 5513 is one of the absolute last examples to leave the factory.

It features a 40mm diameter case in very good condition, previously polished, and showing some wear, but free of any corrosion, dings, or damage. With a beautiful dome acrylic crystal, aging 24 hour insert with blue toning, aged pearl, and with stunning gloss black SWISS T<25 tritium dial with fully intact and original bright ivory tritium luminous plots. The hands are free of any corrosion or watchmaker scratches and feature fully intact original matching lume.

With screw down triplock Oyster crown, and screw down caseback. Powered by the self winding 1520 movement with sweep seconds and no date. Worn on Rolex stainless steel heavy Oyster link 93150 bracelet with 580 endpieces, M date code for 1988,  and flip lock deployment clasp.
