Beautiful example vintage Rolex Seadweller ref 1665 AKA “Great White” serial # 5.7 million circa 1978 with a beautiful original matte black “rail dial” with pleasing ivory luminous indexes and and matching hands and nicely faded blue gray elapsed time bezel. Classic vintage model featuring 40mm diameter case with bi-directional elapsed time bezel, acrylic “super” dome crystal, and fabulous blue gray faded bezel insert, and correct for the era, trip lock crown. Powered by self winding caliber 1570 movement with sweep seconds and date. In excellent mechanical condition, just fully serviced with the case left unpolished as acquired. With original Rolex heavy Oyster 93150 bracelet with 585 end pieces and flip lock deployment clasp with letter A date code.

This watch came from the family of the original owner. The watch is in remarkably good condition in all respects. It is our opinion that the case has not been previously polished. It has a very beautiful and perfect condition matte dial without any deterioration or erosion of the black surface or the printed minute indexes, commonly found on this, as well as the double red model, and has beautifully turned ivory all original tritium luminous indexes and hands.

This is an extremely nice vintage example of a model going through yet another renaissance of interest and popularity. The current example, with rail dial variation, is worthy of any wrist or collection!
