Omega Speedmaster “Straight Writing” ref 145.022-69 with Bracelet circa 1971


Another fine example Omega Speedmaster ref 145.022-69 ST circa 1971 with distinctive “THE FIRST WATCH WORN ON THE MOON” deeply engraved in bold block letters on the case back. This is the 1st generation post 1969 moon landing model with this special case back designation. On all later editions and currently, the moon landing designation is stamped in a circular pattern around the perimeter of the case back. This version is recognized as the scarcest of the Man on the Moon designated production models.

Featuring a 42mm diameter case with black tachometer bezel, acrylic crystal and signed Omega crown. With an extremely fine condition original matte black stepped 3 registers chronograph dial, untouched original tritium lume indexes and hands, and signed T SWISS MADE T dial. WIth original evenly aged “dot next to 90” tachometer bezel and signed Omega logo crystal.  Sporting a never polished excellent condition case that appears to have had limited use in its lifetime.

With scarce and especially fine condition original early stainless steel ref 1039 bracelet with $516 end peices and with date code of 1971 corresponding to the production year of the watch. A very desirable and fine condition bracelet on its own merit in the Speedmaster collector market.
