Lucien Piccard company was founded in 1923 in Switzerland and has been producing both inexpensive and precious metal jewelry and watches since then. In the 1960’s, Lucien Piccard was a well known “department store” designer brand, (in my Bar Mitzvah circles) known for fashionable, modernist design cufflinks, tie bars, and money clips. Many of their trade mark designs included calibrated synthetic ruby and sapphires stone set around the perimeter of their pieces. While LP is not a prestige brand in the world of collectible vintage watches, we consider the current example, particularly in such pristine condition, a treasure from this brand!
