Background on Lucien Piccard: Lucien Piccard company was founded in 1923 in Switzerland and has been producing both inexpensive and precious metal jewelry and watches since then. In the 1960’s, Lucien Piccard was a well known “department store” designer brand, (in my Bar Mitzvah circles) known for fashionable, modernist design cufflinks, tie bars, and money clips. Many of their trademark designs included calibrated synthetic ruby and sapphires stone set around the perimeter of their pieces à la Van Clef & Arpels. While LP is not a prestige brand in the world of collectible vintage watches, we are quite keen on the chic modernist, and faux elegance and high French and European fashion look they emulate. The current model is one we have never seen before and  as you can see, is one we are quite taken with.
