A scarce and iconic design first generation Hamilton 2001 Space Odyssee circa 1969. A futuristic, assymetrical volcano shaped case developed by Hamilton in conjunction with the release of the popular 1966 Stanley Kubrick film of the same name, but with a change in spelling from “Space  Odyssey 2001. The model developed by Hamilton for the film never went into production, but the current 1st generation model was introduced as a commemorative version in 1969.

The 1st generation design model features a futuristic “sandwich” design silver dial with windows at the hour indexes that reveal luminous “planets” orbiting the dial. The dial is silver with an inner minute track, short wedge shaped luminous hands, an inner minute track, and features a wide black perimeter with windows for the luminous hours. The lume of the hands as well as the dial have turned a rich and warm straw hue. 

Powered by self winding Hamilton Swiss made movement with date display at 6 o’clock. Accompanied by its original scarce mesh bracelet with Hamilton signed folding clasp. An excellent condition example currently being serviced and offered with our 1 year warrantee of accurate timekeeping and operation.
